A shramadana campaign





Last week there was a shramadana campaign in our village. It was organized by the youth club.
The main objective of the campaign was to repair the road leading to our village.
The road was in a dilapidated condition. It had not been repaired for a number of years. It was full of pot holes.
By 7.00 a.m. nearly seventy five members of the youth club gathered near the school. They were very enthusiastic. They had bought implements like mammoties, crow bars and shades.
The youth services officer in the area too look part in this shramadana campaign. The members were divided into three groups each groups. Each was entrusted a different tasks.
The first group cleared the jungle on either side of the road. They also cut down the overhanging branches of the trees. 



The second group filled the pot holes with earth. They cleaned the culverts too.
The third group cleaned the side drains of the either side of the road.
Work was stopped for lunch at 1.00 p.m. when the groups stopped their work for lunch; most of the entrusted to them were completed.
Work was resumed at about 2.30 p.m. they were able to complete the entire work by 6.00p.m.
After work was over,the youth services officer gave a pep-talk expressing the value of team work.the secretary of the youth cub thanked all the members for their kind co-operation.
